Raising funds

Since it was established in 1990 the Masonic Samaritan Fund has never had to turn down an eligible application through lack of available resources. If this proud achievement is to be maintained as demand increases and the cost of delivering health and care support also increases we continue to rely on the generosity of Freemasons and their families.

Donations

To make a one-off donation please send a cheque, payable to “Masonic Samaritan Fund”. Please provide your personal details on our donation form so that we can acknowledge receipt of your generous donation.

If you would like to make a regular gift to the Fund please download and complete the donation form and forward it to the Fund.

Giftaid It

Please don’t forget, Gift Aid allows UK taxpayers to increase the value of their donation at no cost to the donor.

Festivals

Provincial Festival appeals are a vital source of income for the Fund. Each year one Province completes their fundraising appeal with a celebration Festival event attended by Freemasons and their families from across the Province.

The following Provinces are currently hard at work on our behalf. The dates confirm when each Festival is due to conclude:

Warwickshire 2012
Cornwall 2013
Derbyshire 2014
West Kent 2015
Cheshire 2016

Advice in support of those tasked to run a Festival Appeal on behalf of any of the central Masonic charities is available in The Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys Festival Guidelines.

Sponsored Events

If you are planning a sponsored event to raise funds for the MSF we can offer advice and assistance that will help to maximise your fundraising potential. Please ask for advice on how to ensure that your sponsors are as generous as possible.

Legacies

After providing for family and friends you may wish to consider leaving a gift in your Will to the Masonic Samaritan Fund. Income from legacy gifts is increasingly important to all charities and provides an opportunity to offer a benefit to those in need for many years to come.

When writing a Will you should take appropriate legal advice. For information about how to include a gift to the Masonic Samaritan Fund in your Will please get in touch.

Donor Recognition

All donations are gratefully received and faithfully applied. All donations will be acknowledged unless an individual donor asks that this should not happen.

Individual donors will be able to qualify for receipt of an MSF jewel with appropriate bars denoting higher levels of support. Lodges are also able to qualify for Patronage of the Fund which will be recognised by the award of a certificate. Details of the qualifying levels for individuals and Lodges are available here.

Merchandise

We have limited stocks of merchandise that can either be purchased or made available in support of fundraising initiatives. Please contact the Fund for the latest details.

If you have a fundraising idea, and would like to talk to us about it, we would be delighted to hear from you.
